Nokia N97 Available on AT&T at $599: Isn’t It Silly?

I was watching the press release of Nokia in which it is talking about plans for starting the wireless service in collaboration with AT&T at 299 dollars for Nokia N97 in UK. The contract period would be of 2 years and the monthly rent would be 60 dollars.

If you ask me, I would never ever go for the plan owing to such a high monthly rent. Don’t you think it is silly that anyone would ever go out for such a network plan when so many other lucrative plans available from other network providers on Nokia N97? I would like to know the opinion of the people on this topic. Is anyone of you going to bite for it?

hellboy 		I think that it is ridiculous and outrageous on Nokia’s part to charge 60 dollars a month for the rent on Nokia N97 in UK in spite of the fact that AT&T would offer 3G internet connectivity for unlimited time period. And moreover N97 is not something that people would catch for because there are far superior handsets available in the market like Sony Ericsson Satio, Motorola Dext etc. And let me correct you that not unlimited internet download but of 5GB is available from this provider.

I got my dad EEE Seashell for $500 way back in March and you should definitely watch out for the features of this handset. But I think that there are many people who would opt for the deal available from AT&T because of the goodwill earned by Nokia globally throughout its years. Nokia is charging around 100 dollars more than the usual what people pay for usually. I don’t think that people would mind for this and there would be many a takers for Nokia N97 on AT&T network provider. If it had been slightly cheaper, I would have opted for it.
